What People's Say About Place

Shave Ice was pretty solid, good amount. They only had one employee working there so when it got busy it was a long wait. Lots of good options and convenient location.

Ululani’s is the best shaved ice in Hawaii, and this location is just as good as the original Maui locations we visited. The mango flavor is a must-try. I highly recommend getting haupia (coconut) ice cream and snow cap. The portion sizes are huge, so a keiki (kids) is enough for an individual serving. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive and the service is not great, but definitely worth it for an occasional treat.

This place offers a wide variety of flavors and original combinations to choose from. The ice is packed nice and firm, so the syrup soaks all the way through — making every bite flavorful and delicious. The shop itself is bright, clean, and cutely decorated, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. It was air-conditioned, which felt a bit chilly since we had just come from the beach, but it’s great for cooling down on a hot day. The staff were cheerful and friendly, adding to the overall great experience.

Ululani’s is easily THE BEST shave ice I have ever tried. The shave ice is so smooth and has the perfect melt in your mouth texture. The flavours are all delicious! Personally, I like the grape flavour the best! Also, they are great at accommodating allergies. They wear gloves and clean everything if you let them know you have an allergy. You must check out this place!!

Ululani Shave Ice is a chain and it's pretty consistent IMO, so if you've been to one before, then this location is probably no different re: menu options. That being said, I didn't realize until I got to Courtyard King Kamehameha (where I was staying) that it was actually inside the hotel. It's open to the public, but if you're staying there like my husband and I were, it's super convenient. We ended up going almost every day during our stay. One shave ice was usually enough for us to share, especially after adding ice cream and/or snow cap. A combo we particularly liked was guava, lilikoi, and blue Hawaii with snow cap and macadamia nut ice cream. (We would've liked to add mochi too, but they ran out.) It's a small place, but when it wasn't too busy and it was too hot to sit outside, we enjoyed sitting at the bar stools facing-ish the pool area. There was lots of natural light coming in through the big windows, which made it a nice place to sit for a spell. The staff were friendly and especially patient when it got busy or loud. I imagine they're used to hotel guests and families coming through at all times of day. tl;dr: this Ululani is a solid choice for shave ice and a in super convenient location, especially if you're staying at the hotel.

Popular shaved ice chain located across the islands. This spot is located in the Marriott King Kamehameha hotel. I walked through the lobby but it’s probably easiest to enter in through the ABC store to get there close to the swimming pool. They have a small inside and even a walk up window. I got the keiki size No Ka Oi “the best” mango, coconut, and passion fruit. I also added vanilla ice cream. It was so good! Soft shaved ice, paired well with the ice cream and their mochi is so soft. Wasn’t too syrup-y and lots of fresh flavor. They were a bit busy and the workers were working really hard. Parking may be tough, better to walk because there are no close parking lots to the entrance.

Out-of-this-world shaved iced! We got the No Ka Oi “The Best” (Mango, Coconut, Passion Fruit) and the Coconut Lover’s (Coconut, Tiger’s Blood, Pina Colada). Absolutely delicious!! The Ulu size was more than enough for one person. The cashier/server on 11/5 was super friendly and quick. The only downside is that parking was tough. We had to pay over $20 for parking across the street. Other than parking, 10/10 would recommend.

Ice: 8/10 Syrup: 9/10 Consistency Throughout: 8/10 Very solid spot. Flavors: Tigers Blood, Vanilla, Pineapple Maybe the best Vanilla and pineapple I've ever had. Very few light spots and no soup at the bottom. They're really nailing the basics here.
